Oh the Irony

Right so it hasn't really snowed since i got here and the week it does happens to conincide with the rents arriving. That's great in the bigger scheme of things cos we will have nice snow to ski, but it has caused one problem. When it snows here it snows hard and unlike Europe the transportation system isn't top notch, which means that the only access road is so exposed at a point called Crowsnest Pass that they have closed it because of visibility and high winds. Parents arrived at this point about 20 mins after it closed - it hasn't been closed once in the 7 weeks i have been here!
So they are stuck there only about 70 km's from me!
How bloody annoying; the chances of this happening are over 1 in 3500! Oh well, i will give them a ring in the morning and review the situation.

BTW the skiing was awesome today and weather was blizzard like.
