Pow Pow Beautiful Powder

At last, we have only been here about 7 weeks but it finally snowed in reasonable proportion on Monday. Enough that we could actually measure a mere 12 cm. Everyone at breakfast was like little kids - so excited! When we did hit the slopes the skiing was superb. Apart from the incident where i collided with Amy on the first run, the day was brilliant; skiing powder on piste and in the trees Awesome - that was so what i came here for and we have got a small taste of it.

The day also had some other good news; Brendan had been let go from hospital briefly for a visit home. It was only brief though as he had to go back to stay the night however.

Today (Tuesday) we awoke to a similar scene as the morning before with snow falling. There wasn't quite the hysteria that was there the day before, but excited people certainly were.
After my morning warm up run i decided to use my normal skis as it was quite icy on the lower slopes but that was a bit of an error as we just ended up skiing powder virtually all day; it was good practice though. Also for the second time on this course, whilst being videoed today by Colleen i stacked it - beautiful - it was quite nice though as there was a foot or so of powder to land in!
Other than this the day was wicked but hard work - skiing powder is hard going. There was also a large number of crashes and drop out today on the course as a whole but i am glad to report me and my group all came through unscathed.

This evening i went climbing for something different to do and it was nice as alot of people didn't bother because they were recouping from today or preparing for tomoz with more snow forecast.

With all the snow, parents have time it well - they are here tomoz and cant wait to see them, hopefully they wont get stuck at Crow's nest pass just east of here, which closes under heavy snow with avalanche warnings.

Not looking forward to tonight as Brendan is now back in the room but on a drip every 4 hours this means i am gonna get woken up at 12am and 4am great - me not a happy bunny!

Anyways laters people.
